 I used the debugging strategy of trial and error in in order to fix the scripts.  To fix the script, I would experiment with different blocks in order to achieve the desired outcome.  To help someone else learn how to debug the project,  I would tell them to try the 10 Block challenge first so they could become familiar with the blocks and how they work.

Ten Block Challenge

This activity helped me learn scratch because it allowed me to understand the impact of one block on the other ten blocks.  The ten block restraint did not hold back my ideas but instead allowed me to use each block more carefully and examine what the blocks would do to the Sprite.  I enjoyed this challenge because it allowed me to become more comfortable using Scratch and careful about what blocks I use and why.

Scratch Reflection

The most surprising thing about the Scratch activity was the amount of steps that had to be put on the board in order for the character to move.  I was also surprised by the amount of characters and sounds that the program contained.

I liked to go through the step by step activity because it allowed me to become more comfortable with Scratch and understand it more. 

As a learner, I like having structure in the beginning of a new lesson or activity because it lets me understand it easier.  I like having more freedom after I have learned the fundamentals of the lesson and feel like I have enough knowledge and experience to go off on my own.

I feel the most creative when I am experimenting new things on my own and am not following a tutorial or structured lesson.

I live in Massachusetts and love traveling to different places. I have gone on mission trips to Trinidad and Tobago, New Orleans, and this August, I will be going to Guatemala. Google X-Rays



It was very interesting to use Google X-Rays to change different websites.  I enjoyed swapping out pictures and changing the wording on the websites I visited.  Below are the websites that I changed.  First, I went to the Food Network Website.  This website had many articles focused on quick cooking and healthy eating.  I changed the articles to focus on unhealthy food and put in pictures of bread and butter, a sundae, and a Happy Meal. 

I also visited the Starbucks website. This website was focused on advertising "Happy Hour" for Frappucinos.  I kept the picture but changed the paragraph underneath it. I created a PSA that was addressed to all Starbucks customers who are eager to try the new summer drinks.

I also changed McDonald's homepage by adding a Koala picture.

Overall, I found it very fun to "hack" the websites and change their images using Google X-Rays.  It was interesting to see what the websites consisted of.
